Okay... Ive had enough of the injection stuff for now and decided to get a single plane, blow-through, and a carb hat so I can get the Monte back out this summer.

Looking for someone that can take a look at my specs and get a carb/hat setup that only needs mild tuning out of the box and tell me where to start on fuel pressure..

355 SBC with a Vortech V1. 14-15lbs.

Thanks in advance!

Look at the carb shop, CSU carbs, and C and S carbs. All three are top notch carb and blow through builders. I am running a carb shop, but still have to finish tuning. The carb shop is the cheapest and the key to a good blow through is having a BRPV. I have a carb hat for sale that is from SMRE Brute Flow which is steve morris design, look them up. They list for $256 new and I will sell it for $150 plus shipping. It is brand new and never ran. It will support over 2000hp. I would recommend becoming a member on theturboforums.com It will tell you everything you need to know. That is where all the blow through experts are. Once I install my new fuel tank I will be finished. You are going to need an A1000 setup with boost referenced regulator, and tap carb hat for that. You want to start fuel psi at 6-8 psi and the regulator will bring fuel psi up as boost comes up 1:1. A good carb will run $750-$800 or you can send in a 4150 and they will turn it into blow through for $350 -$500. I would recommend going to that site and searching and I promise you will find everything you need plus more. I'm no expert but I have researched and researched so I have learned a lot. If I can help let me know. Also make sure any carb hat you get needs to be at least 3.5 inches or your afr will not be correct. This seems minor can be be a big deal it can cut hp and also reek havoc on your carb and engine. Also look up Brent Davis he is the blow through carb man. he has a setup he does on carbs called the "crutch" check it out.

What he said, all of it!! A buddy and I modded mine and it works fine, but it took LOTS of messing with it. Would've been smarter to have just bought one!

Thanks for the advice, guys! I will be giving a few people a call next week and will hopefully be back on the road this spring... fuel system is already capable minus a low pressure regulator and a Wideband is already in place. I will also invest in a standalone knock-sensor just for piece of mind.

This will be my first venture back to a carb since back in the Highschool days and it will be a learning curve! Hopefully it wont give me as many headaches as I was having with the injection/tuning, though.

btw, thanks for the point towards theturboforums.com.... looks like there is a ton of information to be gone through on there!

Also, DBUTLER, I am going to take some measurements this weekend to see what kind of room I have for intake/carb/tophat and will get back with you about that hat that you have for sale.

Thanks again!

Just letting you know ahead of time....the 4150 Carb Shop 750 on my set up is up for sale. The carb is faultless. However I need dual needle bowls to get me above 1400hp....If you are looking for under 1200hp and a blow thru carb let me know before I sling it on Ebay !!!LOL You can see it running in the vid here>

Unusual example of a Z28. The '77 was kindof the red-headed stepchild, but you hit that ball out of the park! Nice job.

Where's the radiator?

I think I seen him talking about that before. If you look you can see them on each of the core support in the corners.

I ended up purchasing a CSU 750 from Kevin a few weeks back along with a CSU Bonnet. I still have not recieved it but it was supposed to be getting PC'd last week.. I will be giving Kevin a ring today to check on it.

Also, bought a Vic Jr intake and ported it yesterday to a Fel-Pro 1206 to match the heads..

Still need to swap out my braided rubber Feed line in favor of a Teflon -8, get a fitting for my 13204, and purchase an MSD 6AL BTM.

Will get some progress pictures up this week.
