Ok, now that my car is fresh off the cover of the June 2005 issue of PHR...it is time to repaint it!
I am looking for some of you Photoshop studs to take my car and recreate the paint scheme for me so I can better decide the color "sequence" I am going to use.

Ok, I have already decided I want to use 3 colors...two of the colors will "split the body in half" and the third color will be a "dividing pin stripe with minor personality". Does that make sense? :hmm:
The three colors are: Black, Sliver, and blue.

Hopefully below you will see two pictures. One is of my Camaro of course and the other is an example of my interpretation of "splitting the body in half".

If the picture of my Camaro is not the right angle...send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I will send you plenty to choose from.

I will let everyone know which photochop I like the beast. May the best "chopper" win!

With the "Photoshoppers" permission, I will send him $50 in exchange for permission to use his idea. :usa:

Thanks!
Robert

P.S. I hope PHR won't mind me using their photos for this purpose :wedgie:

You won't believe this but I have been looking for the two colors on that car for 2 months trying to copy it exactly! Roy Pigfords Nove is amazing!

I agree that his Nova is incredible looking. But, just so we don't confuse anyone interested in helping me...

I am only using his "two-tone" scheme as an example and want my colors to be: black, silver, and blue. :icon996:

Thanks,

Robert

I'll do one, but it may be a while before I get to it since I'm on vacation next week.

Heres a couple quick attempts. I integrated the Hockey stick strip to separate the colours. You didnt specify which sequence you wanted the colours in so I improvised. If this give you any inspiration for new ideas let me know and I will try it out.

I agree that bottom one does look pretty Killer! I might make the stripe get a little smallertowards the rear of the car other than that it looks pretty good!

flyinlow89
06-08-2005, 09:23 AM
actually my first attempt I did have the stripe go thinner. but because of the pic resolution and the nature of the way i did the strip it didnt look good on picture. But ya....definately in real life i would make the stripe go pretty thin towards the back pretty much into a pinstripe.

just for sh*ts and giggles I made up a "Penny Racer" version of the one that seems to be most popular.

I vote for the bottom car.

I would put a red pinstripe on either side of the silver. Make it pop even more!

Allright...now we are getting somewhere! I was beginning to think you guys preferred to do all the Photochop stuff for free!

"DarkBuddha"
I'm going to let this contest go until either the end of the month or until the post just dies and nobody else can improve on what has been done. So...go for it!

"flyinlow89"
I NEVER would have thought about the "hockey stripe" separating the two colors! Nice imagination and I definitely like it. Also, I did not specify where I wanted the colors placed because I am leaving that up to the "chopper" to do.
The "Penny Racer" cracked me up!

I think we are off to a great start...what about giving the "separating" strip a bit more "personality"? The black and silver colors being used are perfect. How about toying with different shades of blue?

Well, those are my thoughts for now...your turn! :drive:

FYI, here is a picture of my 67 Camaro drag car. You either love it or hate it...but one thing is for sure; it's different than all of the other 1st Gen Camaro's I race against and people remember their ass whoopin that much better! :3gears:

I like the use of the hockey stripe. I have been wondering how it would look with it running the complete car. I have been looking at silver, red, and black on my 69.
Thanks for visual.

Sorry guys I have been out of town the last few days.

I was hoping for some more ideas from a few of you. I guess if there is no new interest by next week I'll just send the $50 to "flyinlow89" for his efforts. :help:

I'd like to see what this Blue on top and a "silver" color on the bottom...with the black hockey strip would look like please.

Thanks,
Robert

Holy ****stain Batman! :seizure: I never thought about doing something in those "gills" on the rear quarters! How about this:

Can you lighten the grey up and make it a bit lighter...
Change the blue gills to black...
Eliminate the chrome strip running below the car and add a black strip instead about the thickness of the hockey stripe above it...
Finally, use the same rear quarter hockey stripe "line" that flynlow89 did in regards to how it contours with the lift of the back fender.

Very nice...

Thanks guys!

To go with the look also, I'm thinking the side window track needs to be anodized black.

I just got back from a trip to Canada with no internet connection. It looks like this thread has run its course completely. Although I was hoping to get more ideas and participation...I'm a man of my word and will pay out the $50.
Instead of paying $50 to one guy, I'm going to split it to the only two that participated.
So, "flyinlow89" and "23corner_blitz" can you guys send me an e-mail with your name and mailing address to [email protected] and I will pop a check in the mail.

Thanks,
Robert

so i only get half because he just used my idea and added little things? its cool, dont worry about it...give the money to him. Im in Canada so its not worth having to get a money order or whatever (for canadian funds) over $25.

This pic is killer! This is my favorite one so far. Im still not sure about the black line that runs along the bottom of the door. The black grills are perfect instead of the blue "gills". How about some black Bose wheels with a silver lip. I think that could be the icing on the cake. :)

"flyinlow89",
I got an e-mail from 23corner_blitz and he feels the same as you. He feels you are more deserving of the $50 since he took your original photochop and just refined it from my requests. :thankyou:

So, I want to be fair and pay the $50 I promised. If sending a check to Canada is a hassle for you...I can Paypal ya $50 if that's better.

Can I get you to lower the black stripe to the bottom of the rocker panel?
Also, one "chop" without the black strip and no chrome stripe for comparison.

Send me a private e-mail with your Paypal address.

See ya and thanks!

sending a cheque to canada isnt a hassle to me but im pretty sure i cant cash it. I would need a certified cheque, or money order....so its actually a hassle for you coz you would have to go to the bank. Thats why I said dont bother.

As far as your other PS requests....not a problem but you will have to wait til sunday evening or monday.

I've got an idea. Since both gentlemen declined the prize money, and this site is what let everyone put up their ideas and thoughts, how about donating the prize money to the site?
Just a thought
