I have an A-body ('70 Buick GS) with rusted out windshield & rear channels, and lower driver's side 1/4 panel, trying to make final decision for correct repair:

1) CHEAP but effective: Do not replace roof panel; cut out rusted metal window channels; fabricate & weld in replacement panels

2) CHEAP but effective: Do not replace full 1/4 panel, only lower 1/2 with patch panel

3) A Little more EXPENSIVE, BUT ALL NEW METAL:
Buy new roof panel (Tamraz's/$300), with new front & rear window channels, and new full 1/4 (including door jamb and partial roof), and rear deck filler panel (for lower rear window channel replacement

I am capable of doing the repairs, although this will be my 1st time, and I expect only to do it ONCE on this car (due to it's rarity/value).
Paying a Professional Bodyman is NOT an option, so WHICH method would you recommend?

I would go with option 3 judging from those pics. I think there might be more rust there than you think.

It might cost more up front but it will be done right

There is more rust you cannot see so full panel replacement is a must. In the end it will save you time and money as the body work will be much easier.
