Wow...as big as the 70 "seems" next to a first gen, it looks downright tiny next to the massive 2011's!

Ha! I said the same thing to my wife about the new Camaro. It's F'n huge! Once I got my 68 Bird, she understood what I was talking about. Can't wait to finish it and roast some new Camaro's.

I'd take the 71 all day over any new Camaro.

Well, 40 years of technical design developement....and the 71 still looks better. The new ones are too big, too heavy and just not pretty.....lol.

The 2011 Camaro is a product of the times. Vehicle architecture must be done today in a way that tends to overinflate the size of V8 cars. Not a lot we can do about it. That hasn't stopped it from being the #1 sports car in America. We outsold the Ford Mustang for 2010 and we did it with only 1 model to offer where the Mustang has three (V6/V8 coupe, convertible, GT500). That's pretty damn impressive if you ask me so I guess there aren't a whole lot of people that think it's THAT big or that it's THAT ugly.

Personally I could give a crap how big a sports car is, the only criteria it has to satisfy are; 1.) Is it fast? 2.) Is it pretty? For me the 5th gen hits on both marks. I've driven it a number of times and it has a tremendous street presence. I hope to have one in 2 years and I intend on making it my race car. Plans are to do a DS&E dropped suspension package, tie the frame, camshaft, full exhaust, 4.11 gears, cage. My '68 will probably be mostly for shows, cruising, spirited driving, family stuff, etc.
