Borrowed this one from a forum over here - just gotta love it!!

THE BEST PUT DOWN LINE EVER
For those that don't know him, Major General Peter Cosgrove is an
"Australian treasure!"

General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently.

You'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning
guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta
love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a
portion of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General
Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his
military headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these
young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and
shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle
range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be
teaching children?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle
discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not
one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

Maybe with enough of this type of logical and defiant rhetoric we can start to make these people shutup about things that have been free to do for centuries until they started playing the word games they do.

Whether these examples are true or not it is a way to get these people to run and hide if we all started to put the crap that spews out right back in their laps.

Sorry to ruin such a good story with truth, lol. Facts and data are important to me. The world is awesome enough without having to resort to fiction to vamp it up.

Word games? We're talking about a made-up story that's been running around the internet for over a decade. So who's playing word games?

One of the all time greats:
Lady Astor to Churchill:
"Winston, if you were my husband I would flavour your coffee with poison"
Churchill:
"Madam, if I were your husband, I should drink it"

Another rumored Churchill great:

A woman corners him as he walks out of a bar after a few spirits.

she says- "Why mister Churchill you are drunk sir! How dare you appear in public in this manner!"

he says- "Well you are quite ugly ma'am, and I shall be sober in the morning."

The Cosgrove one is funny, but false....

You know what they say...
" When the legend becomes fact, print the legend...."

We all learn by examples and true or not it is good example of letting people know enough to stand up for themselves and let the other side feel the frustation, anger, fear and tyranny that is being brought to us by their ways of distorting the truth with circumstantial facts and misinterpreted open ended laws.

It's been going on ever since the beginning of time and this country was formed to stop it when we all have had enough. A joke like that is just a joke, but it makes a joke out of a sad reality .
