Hey guys,
I know many of you are like family to us, and I wanted to let you all know that my wife has been put on bed rest (she's 26 weeks pregnant with our first child). I'll be in the shop a much as possible, but if you PM or email me and I miss it, please ask for Justin, and the guys at the shop are doing everything they can to keep up with your every day needs.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Sending good vibes your way Jon. My cousin-in-law was put on bed rest during her pregnancy around the same time as your wife; she just gave birth to a health girl yesterday! Keep your chin up, and be there for her, she needs you more than ever.
Maybe I will see you Saturday.

Prayers sent your way too! I have had several friends and co-workers experiece the bedrest, and all ended well, and their babies were healthy.
I hope your wife gives herself time, even if she is feeling well, and let nature do it's thing.
Best of wishes, I hope the time goes flying by, as it will.

Thank you all for the prayers, and good will. My wife and I were up a lot of last night, the medication they have her on is to slow down the contractions she's having, which for a short while were only 7 mins apart, but the medication has them only coming once or so an hour. Unfortunately the medication makes her (and baby's) heart rate increase, she describes it like drinking a pot of coffee) and that has us a little concerned for baby's health. Doctors assure its okay, but you know my wife works with Autistic kids, and over medication at this point worries both of us. We'll see how she does for the next week, and if the contractions subside, I think we'll be okay. If not, she'll be on bed rest for the rest of her term, which is April 21st. Sucks because it will eat into my wife's time off once Sophia (our baby) is born. Doctors say Chelsea can go on disability for a short while, which will help us out. My wife is the bread winner, so we'll need it.
Thanks everyone for listening, and I'll keep you all posted.

Good Luck Jon and Chelsea. Do lotsa stuff with her to keep her spirits and moral up, I can not imagine being in bed for weeks on end. I am with your wife on the over medication deal, we just don't know what the ramifications will be for your wife or the baby. I don't like to take over the counter pain meds unless necessary.

Best wishes to you and your wife. I know how it can be, my wife has pneumonia with our youngest causing him to be 10 weeks early. After he was born both him and my wife went to ICU. That was over 13 years ago. how he is a health 7th grader.

Just an update guys. Wife has been put on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. She'd not due until April 21st. So my life has gone from 12 hour days at work, to 7-8, and then home at 5 to cook, clean, dishes and laundry, etc. No biggie, but definitely a change. Biggest change is she's now on dissability, so that cuts her income in half. Next few months are going to be tough, but glad we have good friends, and family to help. I'll keep you guys updated.

Hey Jon, keep your chin up. It's been a while, however my wife had issues and my son was born at 28 weeks. That was 20 yrs ago. He is now healthy as a darned horse. She was on bed rest but still ended up delivering early. It will all work out.

Taking care of #1 is priority now, and everything else falls into place.
Before you know it, tax season is behind us, and you both will have a brand new baby.
Time flies. Prayers for all 3 heading your way.

Hi guys, just an update. Mom and baby are doing well. Contractions are kept at bay, or reduced to 2 or 3 every hour at the most, sometimes less, sometimes more, but weekly check ups tell us baby Sophia is doing very well. We've only been back to the hospital once in the past 3 weeks when Chelsea woke up with some piercing type pains, but after a few hours there, everything checked out. Wife and I watch a lot of TV, and my mother-in-law comes over every Friday night to help me catch up with house chores. Doing a lot of cooking myself, which I enjoy, but my repertoire of pasta, BBQ, and stir fry are exhausted. Chelsea goes off the medication in 6 weeks, as they say that is when Sophia's lungs will be fully developed and able to survive in the outside world. At that time, we've heard of women going straight into labor, and of women who continue to carry full term, so we'll see, and I'll keep you all updated. Thanks for letting me "blog" about it here, its somewhat therapeutic for me to do so.
I want to thank you all for your emails, text messages, phone calls, and prayers. Chelsea and I are very grateful we have the good friends and family we do to help us through this. Thank you everyone.

I haven't checked in much recently, so I missed this one. But belated prayers are on their way. I know what it is like. My wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer @ 21 weeks with our second. The decision was to operate and risk the pregnancy, or go full term and risk my wife. We had the operation, they stitched everything closed and went to 38 weeks. My 5 y/o is healthy and strong and we couldn't be happier now with our little miracle. And after all that we still had a 3rd go full term w/o intervention. So keep your head up, there are always good things to come.

Stay strong. We had a situation that wasn't nearly as scary as yours but it carried a risk of premature labor and surgery. I was overseas and the military wouldn't send me home. More frustrating than scary. We're pulling for you and your family. Be there for your wife now and she will love you like never before.
