Any Mopar B-body experienced people here?

Hi

Just some feedback from you guys so i have something to keep in mind...

Between a 68-70 RoadRunner and a 68-70 Charger if all being equal in terms of traction, power, chasis setup etc... the only difference being the rear window of the charger having the tunnel problem unless its converted into a charger 500 rear vs the roadrunner which doesnt have the sail panel problem (though the sail panel to me looks good), which one (or how much difference) would there be in top end speed around a circuit and which would be more stable at higher speeds and which would just simply run better and put power to the ground better?

I know this seems like a way out there idea with possibly no real straight forward answer (maybe there is I dont know).

In Short, which would run a circuit better and would the charger need the 500 conversion rear window to be equal or better to the RR or are these 2 pretty much the same with or without the 500 rear on the charger.

If I didn't like the RR I wouldn't be asking this. Also I found down here the RR to be more rare than the chargers so I am kinda thinking "if the RR is overall better than I would sell the charger I got and go with a RR" if they are the same, my childhood memories lean towards the charger so I dunno.

Would any of you know the difference in weight between the 2 or are they pretty much the same weight?

The factory went with the Charger for NASCAR duty even before any of the aero-mod versions were being worked on. It's probably the swoopier car either way.

The Charger is also gonna be a bit heavier than the RR/Coronet versions of the chassis. It's just a longer car in front any way you stack it. (Compare the distance from the rad support to the front bumper on the two car shapes.)

The biggest offender on the 2nd-gen Charger is probably that air-scooping front grille. The C500 flush grille (actually a '68 Coronet grille fitted into the Charger's front end by the factory) was the only 68-70 Charger front end other than the Daytona nosecone that had decent aero.

The non-aero 68-70 Charger has rear window problems but you have to be going pretty fast before that becomes a genuine issue. At 100 mph it's not the body's real problem yet.

I would build which ever you think is better looking. When you actually get up and going that fast, the aero mods you'll be doing will negate most of the body differences.
