I will probably ask this over an LS1tech too, but I use this place as one stop shopping. I am building an LQ4 up with LY6 heads and car intake. I plan on running a very streetable cam when I put this thing together, but certainly more aggressive than stock. I have a set of Comp Cams 918 Beehives down in the garage that I was thinking about selling along with some other stuff on eBay to free up some money. How good are the stock valve springs on the LY6 heads? Are they sufficient for a mild cam swap?

I would use the beehive springs- you have them why not use them? I think you will will find most will advise not to use stock springs with an upgraded cam. Its any easy swap while youre building the motor, much more difficult later on. Plus you'd hate to break a valvespring later and possibly damage the motor you just built. I am no expert by any means, but I have done a few cam swaps on LS motors. Scott

I would at least go with the Comp 918's that you have since they are already in your possession. A lot will have to do with the actual lift specs are on the "streetable but more aggressive then stock" cam is.

I am not sure which L76 you have, but going off of a 2008 L76, the stock cam only has about .481" lift. Not saying that the stock springs can not handle more, but the .481" lift should be at least an indicator.

As a comparison, a 2010 Z06 with the LS7 that I just did a cam swap in has a cam with the stock lift at .596". So the 2010 LS7 springs should be good to at least .600" lift and a 21x/230 118 cam.

I have a set of the 2010 Z06 springs with everything if need be.

Hope this helps.
