How well would satin silver hold up to UV?

That isnt paint on those cars it is a vinyl wrap I am thinking of doing it myself only matte gold.

There are a few companies that have "satin" clear coat options... i'm assuming they have the same uv additives as regular clear coat. I've tossed around the idea of painting my chevelle a gunmetal base/satin clear, my concern is the final sand and buff.... I dont think you can do it, since buffing it up will alter the gloss...

do a search for PPG Flex N Flat i think its called... we used it a few times where i used to work... you will need to shoot test panels to determine the level of satin/flat you want.

Johnny, if you use regular cleacoat and add flattening agent, the UV blocking properties are still there, and if you take care of the paint,it will last just as long as regular paint job

Sean, buffing will fully restore the gloss. I recently tested 1 year old satin base/clear paint job, and it was very tough to scratch,I mean I took my key and could not scratch it,aftel a few minutes of trying to scratch, the area started to become shiny, that was Matrix AG42 clearcoat with flattening agent.

What is the difference in taking care of a flattened clear as opposed to a buffed clear. I like to hear that the flattened clear will last as long but what about waxing and protecting the paint? Anything special?
