It's kind of lame that it's two separate apps, and it'd be nice if just putting the phone in the head unit automatically opened the radio app. But I think I'm gonna get one when they come out. :D

Looks like something we'll look into for Unfair. The European focus is a bit alarming... I don't see a US version from their website.

I didn't even think of that. I just kind of assumed radio frequency was the same, regardless of country. But then, since europe uses an entirely different television bandwidth, it's no surprise that their radios are different as well.

Matt, have a look at the posted link just above. The US version is slated for mid-March.

Btw, fwiw the main difference between us and European radios is with the frequency steps in am, not fm. I installed a Europe model COMAND in my us 2000 mb. Fm was totally fine. Am was sometimes an issue.

Right. And given the primary use of the iPhone interface will be to use Pandora, MLB.com, Navigon, etc., the lack of a quality AM radio is of low priority. This product looks like a good solution for folks looking to integrate their iPhone into their vehicles.

My concern was product availability... not AM/FM radio capability.

that and what if 3 years from now the newest iPhone doesn't fit in there? Does that render the head unit useless?

Yeah, Apple's tweaks to their case format are a bit annoying, for sure.

Wow! Cool find! You can probably use your Sirius or XM app too!

I could swear I read somewhere that you could. I don't see why not, though.

My iphone4 has been an awesome solution to the antenna problems plaguing my Camaro since I started driving it 5 years ago. Between pandora, ipod, iheart radio and NPR aps I never use the normal antenna anymore. Its sooo nice to get AM radio crystal clear in my car :)
