Im sure it has been covered but I didnt find it in the search. I have a 1994 Trans Am LT1 with a automatic transmission. I previously disconnected the wiring harness from the sensors on the engine and transmission and removed the engine and trans from the vehicle . Now i need to remove the the PCM and harness from the vehicle. What part of the harness do I need to remove to have the engine running at a later date. I have everything disconnected under the engine compartment except for the turn signal and marker lights. Now im starting to remove the wires from under the dash.

I plan on swapping it into a 68 camaro so Im going with the minimal amount of sensors/wires to get it running. What parts of the harness under the dash do I need to save and what can I cut expedite the removal process? What about the data link? I know it short notice but maybe someone can give me a heads up.

It may be easier to send your harness out to be modified the way you need. I can help you out with converting it to standalone using the LT1 computer so you can laptop tune...or, are you going a different route? Are you using everything BUT the factory ECM? Aftermarket ECM?

I was just curious about how much of the factory harness and connection I need to remove from the parts car. The only other thing I think I will need to remove is ALDL from under the dash. Im going to use the factory PCM and I plan on doing a laptop tune on it.

I have everything disconnected except for the drivers side harness going through the firewall near the brake booster. How do I remove it? Is there a screw on top of the harness the needs to be removed first?

I'm sure there's was a screw, and I would recommend getting a new loom and comp or getting it sent away and converted.
