As promised, I'll be posting when there are So Cal SCCA events. Calendar is posted and updated at :
http://www.sdr-scca.com/solo2/schedule/

First practice is 29 January. If you click on the link, it'll get you a PDF file to mail in. Do not hesitate to mail in, Practices are limited to 80 cars. Even if you make just make the wait list, show up, there is almost always slots that open up for stand bys.

These courses are extremely technical, and long, a normal practice day will net you 10-14 runs, each run lasting 45-65 seconds depending on the car and driver, with top speeds reaching 50 mph+

Not to hijack your thread Dan, but I'd like to point out the L.A. SCCA region is hosting an event this weekend on the back lot at AAA Speedway in Fontana (formerly California Speedway.)

We have a local class called California Street Touring that sounds perfect for Pro-Touring cars. It's our "run what you brung" class, and the only real limitation is you have to use 140+ treadwear street tires.

Our "main" site, which hosts our basic calendar, is here: http://www.solo2.com
(http://www.solo2.com). We generally hold one event each month throughout the year.
Our forums are here: http://forums.solo2.com (You establish your account by registering at the main site.) Be sure to check out the "New to Autocross / New to the Forums" forum for a lot of introductory info.
And we coordinate registration through Motorsporteg.com. Sunday's "championship" event is here: https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/6271FF9F-F382-89B5-D69A87640429683D
We still have a few openings for the Saturday practice as well, in case anyone would like some extra testing / driving time: https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/4DC84B58-9295-5BA8-DCC1987630673ADD. If you'd like to join us Saturday, I suggest contacting us on the forums to inquire about openings.

I hope some of you can make it!
