great old school pictures! I DIG it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I'm surrounded by awesome history at work everyday, with drag racing legends The Gotelli's, and famed NHRA engine builder and founder of the old Champion Speed Shop Bruno Gianoli, who at 80 years old is still building engines for Roy Brizio Street Rods, Reggie Jackson and many more along with a few legends that come in and out weekly
keep your pics coming

Not everything has to have some sort of "name" to it either. I'd consider the trans am cars the purest form of muscle cars that you can get.
This article pretty much sums it up for me:

If any of them were ever driven on the street, I'd agree with ya. These were all race cars that never saw the street...different deal.

Well there is a classic pic of a Chaparral 2 driving down the streets to go to Sebring. Not quite the same type of car. Infact a higher class and yet it was driven on the street. Now I'll bet Penske's cars or any of the factory cars never did. Never had to. But some privateers quite possibly.

That's what I meant. No idea where I got Binghampton that's a whole other place. I had a chance to do a drivers school out there right before it closed. Like an idiot I didn't take the shot.

One of my last motorcycle road races was there. You didn't miss much in terms of the track. It was pretty beat-down. Lots of history, but in it's later years it was really quite a dump. Sad.

I found the ruins of bridgehampton last year, the overhead pedestrian bridge is still there and some old flagman stands. Very eerie..
I have seen some cars in trans am footage that have tailights and emblems on them, I would hazard a guess they were driven to the track..maybe not driven home though!
