Hey everyone, Im new to this forum but ive had my Monte since i graduated highschool in 07'. Ive learned alot since i got it and wish i had done some things diffrent. I plan on doing alot to the car this spring/summer. I have a jeep grand cherokee at the moment that i plan on selling come spring and im hoping for aroud $4k to spend on car not counting the rims and tires. Its my DD in the summer but i planning a PT style build. Any suggestions on what to do first would be very helpful.

Car is an 84SS
I redid the motor in colege and learned alot. Its still the 305 bored .030, Lunati bracket master 2 cam .480 lift, Edelbrock performer intake, Holley Street Avenger 570 carb, Edelbrock TES headers, and hooker exhaust.

The front has been lowered 2" with beltech spindles and i added a mini spool in the rear to help with traction at the drags til i upgrade the rearend.

Time line of pics and a video of the motor stock with just the exhaust.

I kinda have an addiction to g-bodies and the torq thrusts are now on my wagon.

Looks good man, I also graduated high school in 2007. Glad to see another Monte get the PT treatment.

Nice rides!!!!! I'm building a 67 Firebird, but really like the g-bodies; my first "hot-rod" was an 87 Cutlass. I recently picked up an 83 Grand Prix to fix up a little and drive around. Nothing serious, I'm just prettying it up and leaving the stock 305 in place.

Here's a question, did you get a decent power upgrade with your 305 build? Also, I'm curious as to what kind of mileage you get with the stock 305 (SS or the wagon). I'm at about 12mpg's in the GP right now. Seems like it should be better?

I think those GP's are pushing 3900lbs, so they are on the heavier side of the gbodies.

I would like to upgrade the suspension and brakes this summer. Lower the rear a little to make it sit level when i get the new rims and tires, have it painted. It will be blue againg but i think a little lighter. I saw the color on a 09' silverado. Thinking some white or light gray SS stripes.

Probably not this year but ill start getting the parts together id like to swap in a 5.3 or LS1 with a t56

The wagon is real decent on gas but it has a Fuel Injected 4.3 swaped in from an s-10 with 2.41 gears so its slow and good on gas. It will get the 305 when i put a new motor in the monte.

The monte gets about 11 in town cause i cant keep my foot out of it and 16 on a trip. Its got a th350 and 3:42 gears so 60mph is 3k rpm's about. It runs 9.73 in the 1/8th mile. Its not great but i like it for the amount of money i have in the motor and the weight of the car.

Welcome to pro-touring. I like g-body cars also. Got 87 cutlass sitting in garage waiting to get a LS2 engine.

Great looking car. I'm doing my 87 aerocoupe over with 500hp and 5 spd trans and all that good stuff. Good luck the car.
