Haha, yeah right. But I did get it running well now and finally got its lard @$$ out on the road. The trouble we'd been having stemmed from the distributor being one tooth off. This time we pulled the #1 plug and made sure it was at TDC before dropping it in. Before we had only checked for valve play to verify compression stroke. Put an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold on it to get rid of the JB-Welded Weiand too.

It's pretty snotty, I love it. Running a tad rich at the moment, but that's easily fixable. Hearing it at WOT under load is so purty... makes all the BS worth it. It feels raw while driving it compared to my Beretta, probably because of the lack of interior, but its unrefinement is kinda cool.

Finally, some pics not in my driveway!

Long way to go still, but it's a step closer now. And to pick it apart, yes it sits too damn high, yes the paint sucks, yes the interior is not finished yet, and yes it could use some fatter tires. But it's cool.

Too bad I couldn't have had it done for Sunday. I missed out on "Musclepalooza" at Lebanon Valley Dragway, I wanted to see what time it would run. I met theflash there with his red 2nd-gen, love the stance on that thing. Would have liked to dyno mine to see where I'm at for power.

The interior still needs back seats, rear panels, & a decklid mat, but they're on the way. There's still a little misc crap missing too, but it's better than it was. I hope to have everything bought & installed (except new gauges) by this fall.

It appears cardomain is being retarded, but if you click the link the pics show up fine.

I love the way the later 2nd gens look--especially in silver. I even like the factory wheels. I'm looking forward to seeing it lowered.

-What does it have for brakes?
-Get yourself a full size air cleaner. You'd be surprised how the small surface area of your existing air filter limits airflow at speed.

I'm with allen, if the strip clubs didn't cost so much my car would be done :headbang: . It's a very clean camaro. Most people rag out the late 70's camaro/firebird. It's always nice to see people fixing them up.

The brakes are still stock, and not all that great. I plan on at least getting good rotors and pads for the front and converting to rear disc. Maybe a 4th-gen setup or even rear disc from a late 2nd-gen Trans Am.

The air cleaner sucks, but that's all that'll fit under that hood. It has a 79 scoop, which is purely for looks. I have an 80 scoop waiting to go on when it gets paint, and that'll give me another 2" of clearance.

This project is definately a low-buck buildup, mainly because I'm broke. I'd love to have Edelbrock EFI, a T56, better suspension and bigger, wider wheels, but for now I'm concerned with getting it running well and reliable. It likes to run at 200-220 degrees, and I don't like that.

Still LOTS of work yet to do, but I'm making progress.

I decided on the gauges I'll be going with, Autometer C2s.

Check out a night shot of one of the digital face gauges:
