It's been a busy year and RSX hasn't seen any lovin for a while. I was able to get a couple of weeks off this month and save a little cash to start the Ford to Chevy transformation.

First up, G-Force T56 input shaft replacement for longer GM 26 spline. This went easier than I thought.

Then came the McLeod bellhousing. They told me I would need a new front trans plate for GM, but couldn't tell me what the differences were. Well, it's the fork hole. Everything else was spot on. Not to worry, I'm using a hydraulic throw-out bearing.

On to the Texas Speed shortblock. Installed the GM front distributor conversion cover, Aviaid Dry sump oil pan, GM's "Caddie" lifters and Edelbrock valley plate.

Next, mock-up for new motor mounts. The new bellhousing pushed the engine forward about one inch, but still needed to slide the trans/engine up an additional one inch for head to firewall clearance. Currently the back of the block is about flush with the firewall. I will see if I can get an LS head at my buddies shop to check clearance before I burn-in the new motor mounts.

distributor? No fuel injection for you?

I will be using my existing Accel DFI Gen 7 system. Made it too easy using the distributor conversion. Ford 302HO and LS Firing order is the same but 8 and 3. It also uses my Ford Accel Dual Sync distributor. Go figure...

After completion, it should look very similar to my existing Ford set-up with the Edelbrock EFI/Carb Victor Jr Air gap intake manifold, Accel throttle body and the Banks intake box.

So what are the specs on this engine Ron? Glad to see you're getting it fixed. I kinda wish you could have kept the turbo 302 but understand your reasons for switching.

Yea..it hurts seeing it changed. The Ford is way cool. Hoping I'll get to use it for something cool in the future.

The short block is from Texas Speed, 370ci LQ9 (4.030x3.622) with stock crank, Wiseco coated -25cc dish pistons and Callies Rods. ARP main studs with ARP 2000 rod bolts. Cam is Comps 224/230 .581/.588 114LCA 112ICL.

At this point I was thinking of using the AFR215's with 65cc chambers (8.7:1), but also was checking out the 230cc with 62cc chambers(8.9:1). The 230's should get me an extra 40hp and 500rpm. 7000 vs 7500. But not sure if I want to go that high? The 215's should be better for drivability.
