I'm currently attempting to install speedtech LCAs, the problem I'm having is the bushings won't clear my subframe mounts by and 1/8-1/4 inch on the inside.

Is the powder coating that thick? Should I sand the powdercoating off? I don't want to modify the arms for obvious reasons.

Thanks for any help

have you original lca's can you take a measurement and compare ,I know the original lca can be a pain to fit.Don't forget to slap a load of silcone gel around the bushes .

common problem... get a piece of threaded rod some washers and nuts... put the nuts and washers on the interior side then then them forcing the frame to open up a bit

That's exactly what I had to do to get my Speedtech arms in on my '69 Firebird. Only took a couple of minutes per side to do.

Some go in tight. I have and to use a floor jack to help slide them in. The delrin or poly type bushings don't give like the factory rubber.

Set floor jack under frame, lay the spring pocket into jack plate. Jack up while guiding into bushing slots. You may have to wiggle the arm a bit. Should slide right in. Don't be shy with the lube.

the instructions actually show the process described above. this is the MOST common problem. the factory sub frames get collapsed during bushing changes over the years. it is not an issue with the control arms.
