Hi, my engine builder installed the Canton 15-260 road race oil pan on my SBC. I am a little suspicious of how long the sump is though (12") So before I go putting it in my car, I want to make sure. Will this clear the center link? Anyone else using a pan with a 12" sump?

Thanks!
Steven

Its close. I couldn't get far enough under to find a model number (Had way too much stuff in the way) but here is a picture I took. The hook of the tape measure is on latched on the back of the pan so this is accurate. It is at a funny angle so the image is misleading. 12" is tight. I will need to get my tractor out of the way and get the car up higher to get a more squared picture.

Steven-

I measure my new CV road race pan I am getting ready to install and it has a 9.5" sump and I didn't measure the gap between it and the centerlink but it definitely didn't look like 2.5" or more. I was thinking more like 2" so it's probably a super close call....

Thanks you guys. It looks like 12 will not work for sure based on what you and others have said. I am guessing that different frame mounts play a small role too, but I would guess that you shouldn't try to go any longer than 10" or less.

I have a call into Canton, so I'll post what they say too.

Canton has told me they recommend their 15-244 pan for an SBC in a 1st gen Camaro. 7.5x12x8.25 DxWxL sump dimensions. 6qt capacity.

Thanks all!
