Greetings Pro-Tour members!

Just starting to build a '70 GS Stage 1, and considering upgrades as I acquire parts for it.

Does anyone know how I can find someone to do some renderings (computer or sketches) of how I'd like my GS to look, when it's done?

Just happened to sign on, after working on my pencil sketch rendering of my 67 Skylark, and see your post. Buicks are not common among this crowd. Regardless, lots of good stuff that applies to our A- Body cars is all over this site. Check out some Chevelle renderings; that should give you some ideas.

Thanks, but I have specific ideas that I'd like an artist to draw for me, so I can actually see how it will look as I want it done. I don't want to just copy someone else's Chevelle, as the Buick is a totally different animal.

I'm thinking of making a widebody kit (extending Skylark 1/4 panel skins into customized Testarossa style ground effects), and interior to include overhead console like airplane cockpit panels, etc.

I already have some extra parts, but trying to get it all together!

What I did was: take a bunch of pictures from all angles and print them out 8x10. Then using tracing paper I scetched out the car making any changes I could dream up. Tail lights, head lights, change the 1/4 extensions, reshape the trunk, grills, all kinds of things. Using the tracing paper makes quick work of each idea since you do not have to draw trhe car from scratch each time.

There are various designers that frequent this forum that could create a rendering for you. To name a few, Jason Rushforth, Carter Hickman, Ben Hermance, etc. Maybe one of them will chime in, or you can check out their websites.

I've owned '70 GS's for many years, and from looking at them most every day, I've taught myself to draw (freehand) all angles of them, but haven't figured out how to draw custom versions like I'd like them done. Thanks for the idea of the tracing paper, it may be something new to try!

I'd like to work with someone who could make a few versions of my ideas, more as a computer/realistic rendering, with multiple views (Front, 3/4, Side, Rear, Top...), so I can have something to look at, for more inspiration to build the car how I envision it.

I've also thought about building a (plastic) model of how it will turn out, to give me a better idea.

I can picture it in my head, but to actually see it, really gives a better perspective to add/change/improve something before ending up with the final result.

Kind of like Mad Max meets Chip Foose...

The car I'm starting with, is an excellent candidate for this project, as it requires mostly all new sheet metal (roof, quarters, rear deck, fenders, hood), of which I already have most of, and am acquiring all the pieces that I don't, and then some.

I plan to keep the car as numbers matching engine, but modified for nostalgic appearance, with a Stage 1 455 & Offenhauser dual quad intake, custom shaker hood air cleaner, besides body mods, which could all be taken back to stock, if necessary.

I think most will appreciate the car's appearance, as it will be tastefully done, but still recognizeable as the original car underneath, with improved performance & handling, as the technology we have available for them now, wasn't available for them 30+ years ago!

Actually, a shaker hood, using a flat hood/cutout, with a Star Wars air cleaner, just above the hood...

Project update, as I have been acquiring parts, rebuilding the frame, having new sheetmetal & custom fabrication on the car done, bodywork is finished, getting closer to custom GSX paint job:

Goal to have street legal for 2016, maybe not 100% finished, but at least 80-90% (save interior for last)!
So far, looking way better than expected!
