Time to change it up a bit! Here is how the car looks now, original gold paint with the vinyl top removed and rattle canned tan.

My Dad, son, and myself were playing around with a video game and came up with the following. Kind of a Nascar theme, even used Bobby Allison's number. I like it, and think I'll do it! I'll keep the beat up gold paint and do the black flat. Vinyl stickers for the rest. Also going to powder coat the spokes of my wheels gold.

I like it but I think I would match the decklid to the top & hood.

I wouldn't do anything to that car but lower it some. If anything, don't do the numbers.

Colors too busy, but I like the black with gold stripes. Kill the #s and do not do the wheels gold.

I dig the color, but I'm biased ;)

I agree. Match the rear deck to the top and front.
I would vote to dump the numbers though.

Take away the stripes and match up the hood and decklid as previously mentioned and I think it would be a good look, but then again, I am from Hueytown, AL (the home of the Allisons).

Orrr....
You could save the hassle and sell that Chevelle to me the way it sits now. I really like that car.

Id definetly like the way it looks but the deck lid matching would add to the look of the car

I'd rattle can some flat black SS stripes on it and call it done.

So what's the connection to Bobby Allison? Are you guys related or just happen to share the name?
:dunno:

Leave it as is, but why are you rattle canning stuff? Not an ideal way to drum up business....

I like it but how about making the #s magnetic so you can take them off and on. Either way I like it.

The tan is temporary to try out the color combo. Got some holes to fix in the rear window channel due to the wonderful vinyl top. :banghead: Besides, we aren't paint and body guys, just mechanical stuff.
I like the magnet idea for the numbers, think I'll go that route.
No relation to the racing Allisons... and no it aint for sale Rick.

I'm with Mr. Anderson. Lower it and leave it.

For the love of god dont paint the front hood stripes bright yellow I say do them in flat black, gloss won't match the rest of the paint. Also the roof would look pretty good in flat black as well. I think you would have a serious problem matching the wheels to the paint so I would skip that too. All that combined with a small drop you will have a nice clean looking car on your hands. I dont know why but I have a soft spot for faded original paint it just give the car more street cred compaired to pampered high gloss trailer queens
