View Full Version : Adding Schroth Racing Harness????....

Hey guys...well just wanted to make sure about this 4 pt harness that mounts to rear seat belt mounts.... before i get it.......is is legal for SCCA autocross??....just occasional weekend autocross and maybe RTTH event........i wanted this harness because its hard to stay in the seat with my factory lap belt....and dont want to add a roll cage or harness bar...if need be....just tryin to clarify this....

We recently bacame a Shroth distributor. Yes that would be legal for autocross and is DOT legal. Yesterday in fact we also talked with Shroth about custom making that same DOT legal belt in 6 point version and will have that available in less then a couple weeks. Really cool stuff.

Someone posted in an other thread said that SCCA would not allow the Schroth 4 pt belts next year.

hmmmm.....just talked with the local SCCA region guy...and said that they be ok for autocross....but for PDX they're not allowed...

Yeah, I was looking at the NASA website and their changing a lot of the requirements for cars come 2011. If the car has been modified, no more 4 point, must be 5 or 6! Safety first. It's like the local drag strip will let you run with 40+ year belts but if you have a harness better make sure it"s less than 2 years old! I'm sure those lap belts are not as good as a 2 year old harness. Liability?

not sure.....4pt got be safer then a lap belt lol...if the region executive of SCCA says i can run it then i can...i always change them out....
