I am looking to purchase my first LSX motor for 68 Camaro project I am starting. In the past I have ran small blocks and then more recently I have gotten into some 540 big block stuff. This next project I want big block power in a small block and carbed as well.
I thought I seen a company in the other form page advertising some carbed LSX motors for sale for Black Friday but I do not seem to be able to find them again.
Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated. This will be my first LS swap so what else should I be concerned with. This is going in an actual big block car.
Thanks, Erik

My first LS1 came from Clevland Pick-a-Part and it was low mileage, came complete with trans and had a reasonable price. If I buy another, I will go to Mast Motorsports (http://www.mastmotorsports.com/) Check out their website and crate engines with dyno sheets. Appears to be no problem getting >700 hp on pump gas and driven daily.

You will not find a better deal on LS series motors than what Travis has to offer. He has sold many on this site. PM Daytonayellaz he will give you a great deal and is easy to deal with.

I am new to this site and was going to post a similar thread tonight when I discovered this one. I have already emailed Travis daytonayellaz looking for an LS7 or LSA or both. My question for the LS engine gurus and engine builders is WHY? Why are most of the websites charging $20K+/- for custom built LS7 engines when the core aluminum block comes from GM for less than $4K wholesale? A lot of profit margin in that spread. This engine has been available for over 3 years now. Prices should be much lower for this product. Where are the qualified, hungry, honest engine builders that want to make a fair profit for their time and actual cost of parts to build an engine?

Get one from Mast. Mast doesn't list their prices on their own site, but here is one example:
