It might even be below average with that front subframe.

Below average is still not average--so as long as he's either above or below he's at least being honest.

Just sayin'

Exactly.

Those flames sure aren't average. At least, not in this present era.

average: typical; common; ordinary

there's been PLENTY of high dollar, dynacorn-bodied, chromed, billeted, subframed, big braked, big wheeled, blinged out, '90's painted '69 camaros, so I'd say it's pretty average.
you know what I'd like to see? a '69 that WASN'T transformed into an unobtainium show car, now THAT would be cool.

Looks good! Lots and lots of work, but at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why were the flames altered from the rendering? on the rendering they flowed with the car, just one "lick" of flames. the two cut far too low into the quarter, and detract from the original design badly.

I would agree that the flames in the rendering look better than the way the shop did them.. but that's more of a personal perference deal.

The rendering was a concept. I gave the air brush artist the option to use his creative thoughts and ideas to create his concept. The pictures are not complete, he is added some for shadowing.

It is safe to say you have done almost the exact thing with the body and coloring I was planning to do with mine! And seriously, what is up with all the negative comments, get over yourselves, just cause you might not like it doesn't mean you should bash it. It looks great, keep the pics coming.

its an old joke and a member with a long history, some of our members dislike the shock and awe type campaigns. best to ignore it and move on. Its not like he said it was the baddest 69 Camaro in the universe? right
PC, did you end the old body and start with a new one?
nice build.

Yes, our man Pearl has a history of "Look at me" threads here on PT.com. He even started another one that I just moved to the Outhouse.

Imagine your local car club hanging out on a Saturday morning, drinking coffee, looking at each other's cars, telling stories, and helping each other out. That's what PT.com is about.

Now think of somebody driving up, rolling his window down, and yelling at the group, "Hey, I've got the Ultimate car here, come see it!". It's a little annoying, but since most of the group genuinely likes cars, you all go and look at this "Ultimate" car. After everybody looks, he leaves, without ever getting out of his car, or even talking to the group. He does this multiple times. He never joins the group, never becomes part of the community. He just thinks he can drive up and yell at the group to come and look at his car.

That's our Pearl Cyclone.

Looks like a great car. But is it the Ultimate Pro-Touring '69 Camaro?

NO WAY JOSE!!!!!

Only a FOOL would ever dare attempt to eclipse the great Pearl Cyclone Camaro, in fact the original owner of the Pearl Cyclone is a FOOL HIMSELF for attempting to usurp his own magnificence.

This Camaro will no doubt follow in a long lineage of cars that attempted to threaten it's crown and only failed miserably.

The Mule? Now merely the "Cro-Magnon Man" in the Cyclone's evolutionary rise to greatness.

Bad Penny? How dare you even mention the term '68 Camaro in the Pearl Cylones presence!!!

II Much? How about II LATE??!!

Big Red? Now only a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT in the eyes of the Pearl Cyclone.

And.........I'm done being an a$$hole. Thanks for reading. :)

I thought that rendering looked so good because the flames actually flowed with the bodyline. I don't like the way they are now. They really don't follow any particular line now.

I thought that's why people got renderings done, because they might not have the ability to see things before they are done. I know after seeing that rendering, if I was going to give the painter a free "artistic license" to do what he wanted, the flames would have been the only thing I wouldn't have let him change.

I guess as long as the owner likes it, that's all that matters. It's not up to me to pass final judgement

Gonna be nice, nice list of parts also. I have to agree with others that I like the flames and paint color from the rendering. What wheels are those??

12-22-2010, 07:56 PM
That's a sweet ride, no doubt. I can dig it. Not my style, but the paint is different at least. Wish it was a little more go, with a stick, but hey, it's not mine, and I'm not writing the checks.
