Well I want to boost my 388 sbc. It is fully forged 6"rods 195 AFR heads, eagle crank. My quest is if I get lower compression pistons what else do I need to run approx 10-13 psi of boost?? Block is a 4bolt main. I know a custom grind cam will help as well. Just getting some ideas together.

i would go with a roller motor. you compression does not have to be too low if your running 10-13lbs. iam running 10.5-1 on mine and iam doing e85 which is fine. Since your on the island you can do it. might save you some money and all you need to do is up size your injectors and pump. i would also use a crank trigger. also what are your goals cruizer or race car?

My car is carb setup. I was thinking of going e85 They popped up all over my town. Well I dropped a washer down my intake without me knowing it during a carb swap, started car and the rest is history. The piston dosent looked cracked but to be safe I will drop pan and take a look. So thats when I would do piston swap. The motor has JE pistons 10.1 Car will be more a street car. PS whats a crank trigger??

if its going to be a street car with 10.1 and running pump gas i would change them. it would be fine with the e85. crank tigger goes behind the back of the crank pulley(for the timing). Its better to get you timeing for the motor off the crank insted of the disturiber (points). its more exact, thats the way to do it when running a turbo esp when your doing a blow through.
