Our own Tony Huntimer did a writeup on this subject a year or so ago. Don't recall if it was in Camaro Performers or in PHR. I thought it was well done.

Silicone dielectric grease on the inside that goes into the hose works good too instead of the silicone spray. I use a dash of antiseize also like the article. Although I generally wrestle them with two crescent wrenches.
