I have a TH400 with only a few hundred miles on it and will be rerunning the tranny cooler lines. I already have a large plate type (B&M) cooler on the car. I read at PATC ?? (Raptor Trans) that they expect an aux filter to double the life of the trans. Derale brand but the mount looks exactly like the ones sold at NAPA, etc.

Is anybody running these? I do not hear much about them and did not find anything in a search.

I have heard that some of the newer trucks have an aux. spin on in the pan.

I prefer to use the Perma Cool remote filter kits for the trans. It takes a PH8A or equivalent filter. As for doubling the life of the trans-I would argue it's not so much the filtering copability that extends trans life as it is reducing heat. It's extreme heat that kills automatic transmissions-whether it is because of not changing the fluid often enough or extreme use ie performance applications. Ideal trans temp is 170 degrees. I install remote kits that utilize a temp sender which I can monitor and I add a thermostatically controlled fan w/cooler and a HD relay setup to keep trans temps between 170-175. I've got some pics if you want to drop me an email...it'll give you an idea at least.
