Well, since Steilow will have his car in the upcoming PS3 GT5 I thought I would show a taste of what its like. It takes weeks to learn how to set cars up at first but once you get it down its consistent with most all cars. Here's a vid of me at Suzuka.

On line racing at its finest. Pardon the graphic language.

Was the purpose to drift or do you always see an inordinate amount of smoke around the corners?
I hope the game does well. I have always been a fan of the GT series but jumped on the Forza bandwagon a few years ago.

Hmm...not really sure how to answer that. Sole purpose is to try and beat the other guys to the finish line. Not all cars show that much tire smoke, pretty much depends on how much wheel spin there is, lol.

Sorry, re-reading the question it wasn't as clear as I would have hoped. I had heard that GT5 will have other objectives outside of the traditional racing of the previous series. My question was if the goal of that particular race to drift. I've seen many games go down hill and get more cartoony and over the top, and get away from their racing roots. (Such as need for speed) I just saw quite a bit more tire smoke than I expected :)

You mentioned car setup. What's your thought of it so far? That's typically one of the sticking points I've had with previous GT games. Either they don't allow the flexibility that you'd like, or the car doesn't react the way you would expect it to.

Rhino, from what I've noticed, it seems that GT is going the way of NFS and is becoming very "arcade-y".

I have played a few other race games but none have been more realistic than Gran Turismo 5 for Play Station 3. As far as tuning goes you are given a certain amount of performance credits to use when setting up your car. For example..the more aero you put into your car the less performance points/credits you have for horse power. Softer compound tires cost performance points also. Other tuning areas would be toe, camber, spring rate, shock damper, brake bias, turning radius, vehicle height, etc,etc...

All and all, it really is very challenging and takes a lot of time to tune a vehicle to be competitive, And best of all, you get to race others on line.

I used to play Forza 3 quite a bit, but then I got my Camaro on track and didn't have the desire to turn my xbox on again. Killing a motor in real life doesn't have a reset button though; I should have stuck with video games.

Gaetano is that the Prologue? I thought GT5 is out Wednesday. Also read that Red Devil won't be in GT5 but GT6!

Yeah Steven, it is the Prologue game. Stielow in GT6?, thanks for clearing that up. Could be awhile before we see GT6.

Stielow's car could always be available as an additional download rather than on the disk.

I was hoping so too, but "You'd think that would mean more last-minute additions to Gran Turismo 5, but series creator Kazunori Yamauchi (on the left up there) says that no, Stielow has just missed the boat, and his car will have to wait for GT6."

My grandkids will sure be happy with GT6 comes out.
