Nobody that I know of.
How would you test the system to verify it works?

I have seen different builds with coilovers and then there is system, but this would require more on an airshock than a bag. I always thought this looked pretty cool: http://www.motorator.com/blog/gm/shark-bite-corvette-suspension-kits

I think he means the airdags put into steering wheels. For safety
I would highly suggest you not try to do this. An airbag is not something you just add to a car and hope it works. It's design is very engineered to the car it is installed on. You'd be better off getting a collapsible steering column. 67 may have been the first year for that but I know the prior C2s are not.

Sounds like a project that wouldn't get good returns. The big manufacturers have all kinds of time, engineering, and testing invested into their cars to see how it works. even if you could get it done, I don't see how it would be worth it.
Then again, I'm just a guy sitting here bored in work, on the other side of a computer screen, so what do I know anyway?:dunno:
I have a 64 Vette that I am going to build StrongArms and ShockWaves on likely this winter. It looks to be a pretty straightforward install but I'll know more in a couple of months.
Sorry...just re-read the thread...I automatically assumed he was talking about suspnesion:)

Regarding frontal airbags, the original bags were design to save the life of an "average" size man not wearing a seat/shoulder belt. There were numerous studies done when they were being introduced that in a collision that deployed front airbags that within the statistical margin of error the occupants were no safer than if they were wearing their seat/shoulder belts. I'd invest in a good set of harnesses.

Absolutely DON'T DO IT. modern cars are designed with crush zones. The airbags are designed to deploy at a rate determined by the force of the impact. The front of the car is designed to absorb and slow the force of the impact before it get to the passenger compartment. Without this being built into the car the airbags could either deploy to soon or too late to help protect you in a accident. The result if you are lucky would most likely be a broken neck resulting in paralysis. The other alot of people will be buying your family flowers. I'm a ASE certified and ICAR trained autobody tech if you don't wish to take my advice post your question herehttp://www.autobodyonline.com/discussion/

I've been working through a way to make airbags work in pro-touring cars...long story short--it's going to take a lot more than just a different steering wheel. To add any real safety, it'll take a complete redesign of the car. Literally. Body, frame, interior, etc etc etc. As mikey and others have said, modern cars are safer because of airbags AS A PART of their overall safety system.

Ever since the beginning of the automobile there has been air bags, political correctness has deleted the option from your memory as of the the last few decades. It was found that when the air bags were deployed properly the sounds and actions of the airbag would happen before the accident could occur wich even the new saftey regulated air bags are not capable of. The earliest of air bags accomplished the early warning system from several sensory connections that were visual and audio controlled.
Warning: there may be some side effects to trying to employ the air bag system depending on your personal status of , single, married or divorced ! It may not be neccessary to have to prepare the air bag systems as some come pre-programmed for operation under all conditions.
The removal of the passenger seat will null and void the abitity to utilize the old air bag system. Removal of the back seat will also aid in total removal of any secondary air bags that may feel the need to employ them selves.
Race cars have proven that harnesses and no air bags is the best setup for the serious driver!
Air Bags of the old style can be found everywhere and at no more cost to you than you are already paying in most instances, you can even choose endless models but don't get caught up in the lust for a better air bag !!!!
Goodluck with your choice of air bag or no air bag !!!
