I looking to have a roll cage installed in my 79 camaro and would like to go with a 6 or 8 point cage. iwould like to know who all has had one installed in their car with a removable cross bar so the rear seat can be used. Also has anyone had the door bars bent so that they are lower for easy access in and out of the car or can this be done?
Pics are welcome :)
Im located in Cincinnati Ohio and if any one knows of a really good shop that does installes that would be great info aswell.
Thanks
Brandon

Hi Brandon, I have one in my car and you can see it in the pics at my homepage site at Angelfire. Use the navigation bar at the bottom of the page to see all of the pages that don't link up.
I like being able to remove it to work on the interior. I have to remove it to get the seats out easily too, other wise it would be a 16th 0f a turn on a wrench for a while. I actually would have made a different mount because it would have been that much of a pain. Not that you want to ever take out your seats often or work on the interior but it is something to think about when putting a cage in.
The door bars in my car are not to hard to get over at all and most people have not complained much when getting in and out of the car. The seat side support comes up so high that you need to be over the bar to get in anyway. I see a lot of swing out bars never get used like they were intended unless it was for show.
My removable section is also different than most and bolts to the floor/frame section making it an 8 pt cage inside the car.
There are several other ways that work well too and will allow you to several different configurations if your needs call for it.
Have fun dealing with planning, annd make sure you plan it well and be there for some of the process if not all of the process to make it fit like you want it to.

I was just quoted around $100 per point. Hope that helps.
Brandon, give Wade a call at our shop. He is our main guy for this type of work and can answer any questions you may have.
