how do I safely remove overspray from my hood without damaging my paint ?

I think a lot will depend on how much is there and how long its been there. I've had success in the past with just re-wetsanding the paint and re-wheeling it out. If its only a light overspray, it should clean up fairly easy. You just have to be careful and not go through the paint. Also, make sure you have a large, flat sanding block so you are only removing the high spots of the overspray.

Im not sure on the claybar as I've never used one, but its certainly worth a shot before going through the hassel of re-wheeling the paint out.

If it's just a little overspray the claybar should do the trick
