I've pieced together a DIY selecta-speed wiper for my '69 Cutlass. Everything seems to work just fine using info from this and other sites except that the motor doesn't recess into a parked position when the switch is turned off. Does anyone know the trigger mechanism to get it to backup into park or is there something built in the controller on the motor that makes this work.

The motor I have is off a 2000 Bonneville which I'm not sure if it should have the recessed park or not. According to several sources, the Bonneville motor is supposed to be the same as the Cadillac motor that DSE is using in their kits. There are 2 wires coming from the motor that are not used. Is one of them the trigger?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

you need to install a 24 K ohm resistor inline on connector position D, should be the dark green wire on the factory wiper motor connector.

Thanks. I just got the wiring diagram from Alldata yesterday and after a quick check my guess was that I was missing the signal return to the controller with the 24k resistor. I appreciate the confirmation.
