I am new here and was curious if anybody had an idea about how much power I will be getting to the ground.
I have a 68 camaro with a 383 stroker from blueprint engines. Dyno'd at 405hp and 440lbs of torque. I have hooker super comp long tube headers, a serpentine system, electric radiator kn high flow 3 inch air filter. It has power steering, no AC. A 700r4 tranny with a hughes 2500 stall converter with lockout. A 3:43 rear gear posi and 19 inch aluminum racing wheels. ALl components are new also.
Thanks for any help

300 sounds about right with an auto tranny.... what headers did they engine dyno with? that must have either a very mild cam or very mediocre heads or both to barely put down 1 hp per cube.

405 hp sounds pretty optimistic for that motor combination. The motor may put out 405, but the water pump and power steering may not have been hooked up, the rest of the belts/accessories may have been off, etc. I would bet more around 300 rwhp for that combination, with most of the loss being the accessories and the auto trans.

Once you get it to a chassis dyno, you should post back on here and let us know how FOS we are, LOL!

Yeah, that's a bit optimistic by blueprint, I'd be interested to see what the chassis dyno says, I'm thinking 300 would be a bit lucky of a number to pull. I hate to be the pessimist of the group, but my money would be on 285-290RWHP.

Ok, I will, maybe in the future I will get the cam and heads changed, so far we have lifted the cam and put a different carb.
