Thats the way we have always driven in here, parking area races etc. have starting to show in picture here just last couple years. Itīs ot hat important to me what it looks or what peoples think at drifting at motorport. Itīs f**king blast to drive, 100mph at sideways and following someone at few feets distance is best rush iīve ever get.

Doesn't take many mods to do that to an American car. Unlike a Tuner rear drive car. Takes some serious engine mods. Japanese started it, Americans dominate it!

Awesome video of an amazing car.
Two thumbs up.
Do you have a build thread for the car?

Awesome!!! That looked like a lot of steering angle for a camaro.. did you modify anything to get that much?

I've always loved drifting. I'd like some more info on that hand brake though, if you don't mind.

There is short version of build thread

Steering mods:
81 Z28 steering box and steering arms (spindle) are about 1.5" shorter and turned towards wheel to gain more steerin lock and eliminate ackerman, steering stops cutted away.

Handbrake, hydraulic of course, with tilton 3/4" master cylinder.

Briefly looked through your build thread. Nice looking ride.

However, when I saw your dyno graph...I thought it was odd. I thought that the HP and torque curves HAD to cross at 5757 rpm or something like that? Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Remember that in my graph torque is shown by Newtonmetres and in US you use Lbft (?)

But when you compare graphs above, torque curve is good, doesnt start losing torq that early, but power doesnīt rise much after 5000rpm, there is some power missing, but hadnīt got time to think that last summer when car was "finished and running fine.
Cam timing? Too small exhaust? Mapping?

Wonder how many laps they get out of those tires?

It depends of the brand and thread wear..If you have sponsors,it doesnt matter..and if you dont have a sponsor, you take advantage of used tires.

At Las Vegas Speedway, we donated a few tires to the Drift guys after our weekend of Autocross, they appreciated it. Those guys show up with 8-12 wheels with used tires on them to get through the night, they run them until they delaminate or blow.

I looked at your thread on ls1tech, it's like you went in my head and took my ideas for the knuckles and control arms! I will be tryin to keep the stock style gear box and what-not as I'm on a TIGHT budget with my car. I'm curious to know how the little 205's work on keeping the car where you want it to go? Also what size rear tire? Any info would be greatly appreciated since our cars are very similar in weight and front end design. I'm just tryin to get started . And btw, AWSOME F#@kin CAR!!!

My car isnīt front heavy, it weights about 2750lbs and balance is about 51/49 F/R. So 205 semislick tyres (Toyo R888) will do just fine, or better than fine, many drivers donīt like that grippy front compared to back.

On rear axle i use 245/40-18 re-thread tyres that comes from my Finninsh sponsor, those are with Bridgestone RE71 pattern and good semi grippy rubber compound.

I plan on droppin as much weight as possible just not the windows or ac since mine will still be a street car for a while yet.(DD daily drifter) I wish I was in a position to jump head first into the build and get out there and compete but that's just not the case. Mods will come one at a time and maybe that's a good thing, will allow time to hone my skills and collect more info as I go. I see that toyo makes that tire in various 16 inch sizes so I'll be trying these, if they work for you they will damn sure work for me! lol I'm definatly motivated to get into this sport so I hope you don't mind me pickin your brain a bit down the road.... Appreciate the info!

I have a technical question about drifting and tire grip. My question is how much does the traction drop off as the tires get hot and how does the traction level of a hot tire on asphalt compare to a tire on dirt?

Grip doesnīt drop when hot, it doesnīt get that hot. Traction is actually better in driving temp than cold, thatīs why small burnout is used on tyre warming at first run. Offcourse it drops cause of warming due tyre pressure little, but we ran quite low pressure when cold, about 20psi or so, so thatīs nor significant either. So you can say that pretty normal asphalt grip, afterall, we are using normal street tyres, quite soft ones to get grip.

Finnish season over, i did placed fifth at overall points in Finnish National drift championship series, i may be wrong but it may be first real national series driven under FIA. About 30 drivers... Not so bad, but not the way i planned it offcourse.

Cars are getting faster and faster, pretty much all top10 cars are in 600-800hp range, im struggling against with my barely over 500hp, funny still, Camaro is lighter than most of other cars. But iīm in need of supercharger if planning to run series next year with somesord of goals in mind, or trying to make 100-150hp more an N/A but, letīs see what i come up next winter...

Otherwise car is good, pretty well balanced and i have pretty much grip and speed in reserve if just would have power to spin those wheels, fast tracks which accelerate toward finish are pain...

Somesord of videoclip from last race, i did drive my this season only podium race in this, placed second. Other bests were 2 fourth places...

But hereīs the film, no one donīt watch whole 14min so quick guide on my battles

Top 16 in 5:20 against Pasi Koliseva and his Toyota Celica ST20? with ~600hp 1JZ

Top8 in 8:20 against Henri Haanpää and his Toyota JZX90, 2JZ about 600hp, that following was probably my best with this car.

Top4 in 9:50 against Marko Kivi, Lexus IS200 and 2JZ, 640hp if i remember right
Top4 OMT at 11:20

Final in 13:35 agains real rookie of the year, Harri Kosunen (won the Championship) with Skyline R33 with supercharged LS2 and 670hp. It is two time Finnish championship car by previous owner.
