Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a metric to standard fitting that will go in the passenger side head(of the LS motor) for the mechanical temp gauge. Has anyone found/used one of these? Any help would be much appreciated.

Autometer makes one for the sending units, comes with the little copper washer. I'm using it in my Mustang with an electric temp gauge. I don't know if a mechanical probe will fit in that hole (they are so big). You can find them on the Autometer website, Summit sells them, if I remember right, they are abour $12. Ron

I believe S&P sells them as well. Good luck finding it on their website . . . www.hotrodlane.cc

Yes, S&P has a not so user friendly website...they should really look into redoing it.

The Autometer adapter will not work with a mechanical sender. I drilled and re-tapped my head for a 1/2" NPT fitting.

As far as I know, this is the only way to use a mechanical sender in the head.

You're polite. It is awful.
