Ok guys dont laugh! I finally spent my life savings on my new intro wheels and now I need to save up for shoes! Anyway the next logical step would be rear brake conversion, as now the rear drums are exposed and look silly. Well Its going to be quite some time before that happens, so I came across these disc brake simulators at jc witney or( fake looking rotors without calipers) I know its hokey but its got to look better than the drums right. What do you think and does anybody have a better solution than this. Ha! Don't do it. Spend the money on some black spray paint for your drums and email matt for some stock style rears or save your money and get some lt1s, ls1s or baers or something else. Seriously, don't put on fake discs. I'd really rather see black drums than wheel discs. If you are going that way, put on some of that stick on chrome around your wheel wells and a fart pipe, maybe some fun fur seat covers. Oh and some taz stickers or Calvin pissing on a ford symbol. Don't do it. Seriously.

Disc simulators look like poo. If you got drums, clean them up and run them. I think a can of cast iron high temp and sand paper would be far less expensive and you would be would not look like a poser.

Why spend money on something fake when you can save that money ($52.99 + tax) and put that towards something real?
Personally I wouldn't worry about it "looking silly" anyways, worry about it performing well.
But one thing I do know would look silly... a 1968 Firebird cruising down the road on rims with no tires and simulated rear discs. :lmao:

If you're really concerned about it, spray your drums flat black with a dollar or two of paint to hide them a bit, and call it a day.
Spend your money on tires or real rear discs.

As others have said, don't do it. Save up for the real thing. Keep your eyes open on ebay/craigslist. I had about $200 into my rear LS1 set up, including pads and rotors.

That was sarcasm...Vince was throwing you to the proverbial wolves so to speak. And by the way, real men run 4-wheel drums with 1600+ RWHP. I'm sure you could find a set of front drums for next to nothing and get away from those unsightly discs altogether.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't do it. Leave it to the ricers and wannabe ricers. Get a can of silver or black spray paint--it's gotta be better budget than fake-outs you are going to throw out later, right?

Check the juck yards for some rear 4th Gen Camaro brakes. If you have a pick-n-pull near you, you can get pretty much anything on the cheap!

Anybody asks about it, say you wanted to see if you could maximize the performance out of the stock brakes so you'd have a baseline before you swapped. Then you're not cheap, you're a badass.

I already have front discs. I was talking about the rear. But thanks. Yes they are v-rods. cant wait to get the friggin tires. They look silly without the rubber around them.
