Hey all. I would like to put 17's all the way around on my Nova. Its got all stock suspension. I would also like to keep my fenderwells if that is possible. Any information on backspacing and size is needed. Also tire size is welcome to. Pics are greatly thanked!

Take a look at http://p067.ezboard.com/fprotouringgmachinesfrm9.showMessage?topicID=421.t opic

It's the database that was compiled on what backspacing has fit what in the past....

BUT

Every car is different - manufacturing tolerances were large when they were built, and 30+ years of wear affect different cars differently. The only REAL way to know what will and won't fit your particular car is to measure your particular car.. and since your car may not have the same dimensions even between drivers and passengers side, you'd want to measure both sides and either true it up or adjust your backspacing according to your car.

Thanks. Checked it out and didnt find anything on 73-74's, but im pretty sure 69-74's are all the same. How do i figure out whats the biggest rim and tire i can fit in back and how do i find out the backspacing needed? Thanks

Hi 73, I have a 69 with stock (replacement) multileafs and Hotchkis 1.5" drops with 17's all around. Fronts-17x7 235/45 4" bs, Rears-17x8 255/45 4.75" bs TT2's. Could probably go with 255/50's in rear to fill wheel well better but you better check first.

Blown, do you have a pic? How to check what will fit?

Sorry, but I don't have a digital camera (or the knowhow) to post pics. what I did was make a template that bolts to the axle flange (drum) and simulated the exact wheel width and tire width then I was able to spin it around to see if it would fit.The rear setup is real conservative as far as inner and outer clearence so I would not worry about that. The fronts fit great too, the only thing I had to do was put a button head bolt on the inner fender bolt above the tire (center one). Hope this helps.
