So I promise my neighbor two months ago, before the OUSCI invite, that I would attend a car show that he is putting on today. I'm at the other end of the show when my wife, who is at home, calls me as says that a tree fell on the car! I had to wait for my boys to finish on the ride they were on and then sped off to see what happened. This scene awaited me.

Fortunately, there was zero damage to the car. Even the car next to me had very little evidence that anything happened. Even the people in chairs under the branch did not get hurt.

Crap, Carl ... that's a close one. Glad there was no damage to the Camaro or to anyone else.

That was your lucky day, the car gods have good things planned for you at SEMA.

Damn.... That's WAY too close for comfort. I wouldn't recommend parking around any trees anymore.

I don't park under most trees at a show here...reason is in Australia, the most popular trees are gum trees....damn things throw branches all the time.
Glad your ride is OK.

Damn Hollywood you really can't do anything normal. You do it spectacular everywhere. I am thankful the Camaro (and the Ford next to you) were not damaged.

I don't get it. If your wife was at home, how did she know the tree almost fell on your car at what looks like a car show? Was he (the neighbor) putting the car show on at his house, by proximity of you to him that would put your car in the car show?
I bet that was panic when approaching the car with an instant phew when you realized it missed.

Another neighbor who was at the show called his wife at home, who called my wife, who then called me. Nothing seems to come easy sometimes.
My youngest was climbing up a multi-level netting tower to get to a slide when I got the call. There's no hurrying him if he does not want to move it, so I was quietly screaming for him to get his butt moving.

Yikes. What the hell, it just came down?
That reminded me of this past winter with the branches on my car. All that snow saved it from any damage.

Trees . . . always out to ruin your car in one some way, whether it be insidious small leaves, dripping sap, a place for birds to perch, or falling branches. Trees just hate cars.
