I am trying to get my SB Chevy water pump housing powder coated and I am told that I need to disassemble it so the seal does not get ruined when the housing is baked. Can anyone please tell me how to disassemble the shaft from the impeller? It is an aluminum housing. I called Edelbrock and they told me that they have special tools to assemble the impeller and shaft and that I would ruin it if I tried on my own.
