I have a 68 camaro with a Big Block. Previously had the 13" one piece Baer Claw front and rear.

We recently upgraded to Baer's 6P front caliper and DSE master cylinder. Due to low vacuum we had to purchase a SSBC electric vacuum pump.

Everything was installed and hooked up with brakes bled and pad bedding completed, looks great but i have a couple questions hoping someone can help me on:

I am not real sure how this brake combo should feel. Almost feels to soft but maybe that is how it should feel, anybody run this combo?

When i press on the brake, until i get closer to the floor i get a gradual brake feel, as you get closer to the floor and when you mesh hard on the brake pedal the brakes do what they should be doing, they lock the front tires up, actually pretty impressive.

i am slightly adjusting(increasing) the Baer porportional valve to get more of the rear brakes to engage. But a huge difference from what i had before. Again i am fine with this they seem to work great, just want to make sure.

Side note--I ran with Baer's manual master cylinder before

I also noticed my brake pedal did not want to come back up as fast we thought should, so we added a spring to the brake pedal inside the car to help bring the brake pedal back faster, is this normal?

If the car is turned off and you push the brake pedal down brakes stayed engaged until i start the car and then they disengage when the vacuum pump starts, is this normal?

Thanks in advance for your help? Greg

Not a fan of the electric vacuum pump. They never seem to work right, and are a band-aid at best. If it were me, I'd run right out and get a hydroboost system of your choice, you can get a high-zoot custom fitting one from a variety of sources or build your own Astro van deal, but you'll never look back. As it stands, I doubt you'll ever get the performance those calipers can give with your current vacuum pump system.
