I recently joined the Forum and Love it!
I am the original owner of a '71 AMX that I've enjoyed for many years. I refer to it as "The Thing That Wouldn't Die!
Over the years I've driven it on Daytona, Sebring, Road America and Brainerd Intl. Raceway. Over time I've basically created a combination of Resto/Mod and Pro/Touring blend trying not to stray too far from stock since it's an original AMX but upgrading the chassis and drivetrain to a modern level with a street friendly 420 HP AMC 360 with a suspension to deal with it. Modificatons will be covered as the changes take place. (See Below).
Below you will see photos over the years and the upgrades that have taken place.
First photo from 1978 at 118,000 miles, engine still original.

This car was done in the spirit of Mark Donohue and the modifications are based on what Mark did to his own '71 AMX.
