What about the Hobart 140? I have used it and seemed like a very nice welder and a bang for the buck! Don't forget you will also need gas and all other small things add up. Brandon

If it doesn't have to be American built, check www.longevity-inc.com. Longevity has a 5 year warranty on all their products and good service as well. Just looked at the specs on the Hobart you are looking at and you can do much better for your money with a Longevity unit, if you're okay with an off-shore unit. For $250 less and free shipping you can get something that cuts three times as thick steel!

Keep in mind that the Hobart unit has a built in air compressor which is a big plus in my book. Im looking at one myself. Forney also makes a very similar looking unit for $200 less.
