Will see light use... mini tub job and maybe some basic tube cutting....
was looking at the hobart 250 for 799.00 but that seems too rich for the limited use I plan on

What about the Hobart 140? I have used it and seemed like a very nice welder and a bang for the buck! Don't forget you will also need gas and all other small things add up. Brandon

If it doesn't have to be American built, check www.longevity-inc.com. Longevity has a 5 year warranty on all their products and good service as well. I'm ordering a Force-Cut LP50D plasma and an ArcMate 205 Mig/Stick combo tomorrow. Free shipping too! Let me know if you order from them, just curious. I'll post my order experience after I place mine hopefully Friday.
Edit:
Just looked at the specs on the Hobart you are looking at and you can do much better for your money with a Longevity unit, if you're okay with an off-shore unit. For $250 less and free shipping you can get something that cuts three times as thick steel!

Never heard of longevity but it may be a good option.

Keep in mind that the Hobart unit has a built in air compressor which is a big plus in my book. Im looking at one myself. Forney also makes a very similar looking unit for $200 less. It may be the exact same unit, but I dont know. http://beta.shopping.aol.com/f-250-p-plasma-cutter-w-air-compressor-110v/774613471
