have 2008 tahoe 5.3. it is dbw and 58x reluctor. will be doing the 58x to 24x conversion module by lingenfelter, so i can use the fairily cheap aem ecu for the 2000 camaro.
here is the question. it there any chance the aem will interpret the dbw system? i have a feeling i know the answer, no, but would rather have the dbw due to install simplicity.
or, if i just went with the boring ol' stock ecu for the 58x, and dbw, it will save me $1200. BUT, will the stock ecu be able to be finely tuned enough for a twin turbo set up and larger injectors?
if anyone has any good ideas here, let me know.

I want to say that the AEM will not drive the DBW, but they would be the ones to call to give you the correct answer.
I would still use the 58x ECM whether it is an E38 or E67. The E38's are much more boost friendly and MOST of either ECM can be updated with a 2bar MAP operating system to run a boost vehicle properly.
I would need to have a base HP Tuner file from the ECM to even see if is upgradeable to a 2bar OS.
Hope this makes sense.

makes total sence mike. i am confused though on the ecu codes. e38 and e67. i will try to do a search to see what vehicles those come in.
i did purchase a 2005 cts throttle pedal, only to find out later i need a tac module also, and they don't have it. i did research last night to see what other vehicles might be compatible with the pedal sensor, but my brain shut off at about 2 hours, hahaha. will start again today. seems 2005 is about the time it could be one of 2 different tac modules.
what is good software for me to use to tune the stock ecm? what is the resolution on the maps? i have used haltech and aem before, but never rewriting a stock ecu myself. how is the interface, and how easy is it to work with?
i have a cut engine harness, so i have all my sensor ends, but no ecu end. so really i could use whatever ecu i wanted.
what would make one ecu more acceptable to running map than another?

after more research, it appears the e38 has mapping for 2bar map. due to the zr-1 and cadillac supercharged applications.
took a look at hp tuners. looks pretty good. priced good too.

gave john over at speartech a call and we got straightened out the last parts i need. already purchased the parts. 09 vette ecu, 06 vette maf, and 08 vette pedal. sounded like no sweat for them to do the harness. finally feeling comfortable i have all the parts to install with minimal headaches, and run to boot!!

John is the man for sure and with his packages you can rest assured that it will be correct.
