I read where one or both of the 2 small gauge wires looped out of the back of the gauge can be snipped to achieve 4 cyl mode. Any input? Thanks, Scott

clip both for 4 cylinder mode, neither for 8. To get to 6 you need to clip one, but need to know which. Instructions can be found at www.autometer.com

Thanks for your help. I searched for the instructions but could not find any that looked like my tach, or that mention cutting the wires. I already called auto meter & they told me i needed a tach adapter. After speaking with speartech, im told that is not the case. Scott

Which tach do you have, a number may be in the face of the tach. And so Speartech knows more about Autometer than Autometer? Odd.
