Anyone going this Saturday? I know it's not PT, AND some of y'all are pretty closed minded to "other" styles.....but there are plenty here that I'm sure like other styles too!
It's in Decatur, IL and is supossidly an awesome show, like 1,500 cars or so with lots of other festivities to boot! Ive never been tho, but will be going this time! Hollar if any of y'all go!

Went last year for the first time with our '56 wagon. Pretty cool event, but definitely a different croud. Not going this year as it has moved and is a lot farther from our place, but is now closer to you. Let us all know what you think. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I'm going, last minute decision, but the weather is to nice to not drive the roadster. The new venue should be cool and it's great to see a different kind of "engineering".

See you there
Donny

Chris, did you crawl out of bed and get right on pro touring or do you sleep with the laptop on your night stand?

I'm at work every day by 6 am. Lynda starts at 5:00! Good thing I look here in the morning as that's how I found out about the spectator/volunteer issues at OUSCI.
Think we're going to Morris Sunday for the big Lion's car show. Have fun at the Pile-up.

I know how early you get up but 6 in the morning is too early to even think about getting up....I prefer 9.....ish.

I like that show in Morris but I haven't been in a few years, the local club is doing a rod run up here, its cool because we actually drive somewhere. You know me sitting still, doesn't really work for me.

schmoov, I'll be looking for you. I'll be the guy with the black t-shirt on. Ha!

Isn't your car too shiny for that crowd? My buddy usually goes down, he is building an A pickup. I will have him look for you guys.

Here is the rundown of our trip.............

You didn't see my car because I was parked next to a Honda!
Were you wearing a MMCC shirt? I saw someone wearing one "across the way", but could not find them when I got over there.

Holy smokes! I never even put that together. You got boned as far as I am concerned, Sometimes rules spit in the face of common sense. The problem is you can't teach common sense, that's why we need rules. I am glad you still had a good time.

Side note, its weird how many people I see here from over on the HAMB. I kind of thought I was the only one.

You got hosed for sure. I would have bet anything that your wagon would get in. Your car is what events like this are all about. There's is no way we would have made it in this year. I figured we had a 50/50 shot last year and drove right in, with our 16" American Racing wheels.
Not sure if you have been there or not, but the Back To The 50s show in Minnesota is a must do. Mr. dontlifttoshift went this year and I know he had a blast. We went in '09 with our wagon. Awesome show! The only rule is '64 and older.
We may never make it back as the MotorState Challenge is the same weekend. Here's a pic of our pile at last years pile up.

Yup, I definately thought I got hosed.......but it's their show I suppose! I just told them that I don't care if they want ALL the cars there to have pink and yellow polka dots, that's cool......just freaking say it in the qualifications BEFORE people decide to go!! That's the part that pissed me off, that I drove 7 hours to go to the show, 2 nights in a hotel, and the food and gas for it all.....to not be let in! Then I had to drag the 2 kids (1 1/2 and 5) all around all day with all their crap and no place for them to "rest" when they....well, turn into real kids and not just "car kids"!! Needless to say, I won't be back.....there are too many OTHER cool shows around to "roll the dice" on that show.

I will try to make the Back To The 50's show sometime in the future. I've heard of it before and that it was a cool show.

The HAMB is a cool board, there are just some "rat rod" Nazi's on there that are A-holes when something like that is said. It just takes up too much time for me! LOL.
