I am looking to do something a little different to stand out in the sea of 69 Camaros with cowl hoods. I am already doing quite a few custom modifications to the car and want a hood that is unique as well.

Here are a few of my options, I would like feedback or even some pictures of these on some touring cars. I am having a tough time finding pics of them on completed cars.

1 - Harwoods new "Pro Touring" Hood sold through Jegs:

2 - Year One's "SS" Style hood:

3 - 68 Yenko 427 Hood:

I am looking to do a color scheme similar to this with a burnt orange with gunmetal stripes:

Opinions? Feedback?

Thanks,
Dustin

I like the classic look of a "cowl induction" hood ( GM called these a Special Ducted Hood ) or the SS Hood with the louvered grilles ..
But a functional ram-air hood is really good too .
I like the third one down ..It resembles a Yenko Chevrolet Camaro hood. ( I'm a retard , I just saw the Yenko emblem in the grille )

I made a functional L-88 hood for my car.

Would like to do a 68 Yenko hood for my car next.

The 67 Stinger and 68 Yenko hoods look great IMO.

Always been a fan of the stinger hoods...so the first one would be my pick. Others look great too.

I like the Yenko hood and always have. Good lines, but more visual interest than a cowl.

There's also this hood that looks similar to a Dana hood from eBay:

I think the cowl induction goes great w/ the lines (and the lines on '68-72 novas as well) but the yenko hood looks good also.
lots of guys run the '69 cowl on 2nd gen cars, but I never liked it; it adds a peak on a hood that was flat, the lines don't flow well. a L88 hood fits better on a 2nd gen IMO.

The L-88 hood has always been a fav of mine. Rarely see them on 1st gens. Usually vetts and 2nd gens. If hood lines were diff I might try to merge one with my 'Bird.

I like #1, has a sharp, aggressive look.

well, it appears that there is no clear consenus. I am leaning toward either #1 or #3. I have never seen #1 on any other 1st gen besides the one pictured above, so it is kinda hard to know how it would look on a completed car.

Anyone seen that or the Yenko hood on a PT type 1st gen that they can post a pic of?

Thanks,
Dustin

#1 or #3. Both look great on a first gen. I really wish someone would have made #2 for the 2nd Gens.

ss hood or flat hood if you want to be different

A flat hood is out of the question for me. I am running a BBC and need some extra hood clearance.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Keep 'em coming.
