I read Mary's article (http://www.camaroperformers.com/camaro-tech/brakes/camp-0912-1973-camaro-baer-brakes-upgrade/autocross.html) on upgrading from Baer Track 13" to Baer 6P calipers and retaining 17" wheels with a 1/2 spacer. I thought I'd try to get 14" rotors inside my existing 17" TTIIs.
The radius of the Baer track 2 piston on a 13" calliper is larger than the 6p with a 14" rotor!

The only issue seems to be the calliper width. Hence the spacer and longer wheel studs. I would like to know what the knurled diameter and thread is for a 2nd Gen (1977) Camaro front wheel studs? Also do you think I'd better off asking Baer to install longer studs or would it be uneconomical.( DIY cheaper).

7/16"-20 .560" dia. knurl
call to check pricing, might be cheaper to have them install studs.

Regardless of who installs them, it would be wise to upgrade to M12x1.5 or 1/2-20 wheel studs when upgrading your brakes, especially if you're considering running any sort of additional wheel spacer IMHO.

Ok thanks, I will consider 1/2"-20 and get the rears done at the same time.
Now do you all think using the diagrams supplied that the 14" rotors with 6P calipers will fit 17" wheels....I called Baer but the tech was not very sure, even though he agreed the 7.635" radius for the 14" 6P was less than the 7.72" radius for the 13" 2 piston PBR...

First off, we can order the Baers for you with longer studs, no problem.
As for weather the 17" TT2s wheels will clear, all 17s are not created equal with respect to inside radius or spoke clearance. The radius may very well be OK, but TT2s do not have a very high pad on them so spoke clearance will be a bigger issue then radius. I doubt very seriously a 1/2" spacer will be enough. IF, big I and F, the radius would clear I am betting you would need 3/4" spacer or more for spoke clearance.
This is all highly speculative, but knowing the TT2 only has a 1" or less pad, this is what I would think.
Now if we was talking about a high pad wheel like a Forgeline, Fikse, something built to clear big brakes, we MIGHT be having a different conversation. Do you have a 1/2" or 3/4 to move that wheel out without digging into the fender? Are the wheels that wrong for the car right now?

Thank you Frank for your detailed response. I wanted to keep the wheels I have. I have just put a S*$t load of extra power into the car and looked at my poultry brakes. I then learned that an increase in clamping force via the 6P's over the 2 PBR's would only offer a marginal increase in performance. I was trying to buck the trend and shoe horn the 6P's in.......
I guess the other wheels suggested would do the trick. However I'll measure my TTII spoke to 2PBR caliper clearance and do the maths.... If all fails I'll just have to move up to one of the 18" wheels and carry the extra weight...LOL!!!!
(It's a shame Baer didn't supply templates for the 14" 6P's!!!!)

Does Mary us a C5 or C4 rotor?

It was a Baer Track 13" one piece rotor but she's rebuilding and painting the car so who knows now!!!!
