I get to use solidworks at my work, ant want to know more about using it to do things like designing chassis and fabrication. i'm building a '68 camaro and want to know if there is models available of the entire cars, and parts?
do most people use their own 3d scanner to render the car?

Answer to your first question would be no. To answer your 2nd question, you're gonna need some big bucks to have the whole car 3d scanned and rendered.

Yes, although I doubt anybody has the entire car scanned...there just isn't any need for that. At the time we bought our Faro device, the optical scanner was another $50k.
