Does anyone know of any tracks around easter pa where i can do some street course racing solo? I'd love to take my 87(for now) and my 79(when its done) to a road course track and run it. But i dont wanna run while other people are due to the extreme possibity of gettin hit or even gettin in a bad wreck. I dont have a truck, or money to go out and buy one so i need to be able to drive my car to the track and back home so solo runs are my best option of getting some driving done and see how good i actually am. Any help would be great.

Getting in touch with the northeast chapter of NASA (http://www.nasanortheast.org/schedule.htm) may be a good thing, looks like Pocono is in the right area. Plus, it would be worth the drive for Watkins Glen, just to be able to say you were there!

Getting in the HPDE beginner group would be a good, controlled way to get on track with a minimum of risk. If you are intent on being alone on course, then autocrossing may be your best bet.

thanx soo much guys, ill check out all those sites. Pocono is about 45 minute drive from me(doin about 120 up the highway... and yes it was in a neon...) I'd like to check out watkins glen. When im all done my 79 ill probably have a pickup and have a trailer, so at that point hauling the car will be the means of transport so i can run with other people and not have to worry too much bout rubbin.

BeaveRun is a lot of fun, about 45min north of Pittsburgh near I-80. It is only 1.6 miles, but that is plenty to have fun on without getting too nuts (I've seen what that big blue guardrail at the Glen can do!). I've been up there for track days, and will be at several more this summer. They also have autocrosses all the time, there is a huge 6 acre paved area just for it. Everyone there is really nice to deal with, also.
