Today in the morning i thought it would be a friday like every friday... hopefully quiet and "easy going" until end of work.

But then it happened... i had a visitor.

It was Jeff with his bad@$$ '69er...

The car is just awesome and looks really good!

And Jeff? Well, he is the type of guy that you like immediately :)

Thanks for stopping by and showing off your ride...

Pretty nice car dude :usa:

Thanks Mike. Its nice to be able to drive her around and actually start to get the bugs all worked out. Always finding something that needs to be done. I'll hopefully have an interesting video to post up in the next week or so after i take her to the Dyno. I can't wait to see how she does. I really wish I could have brought her to RTTH's, but its hard to get things finished up when your deployed, and even harder to find someone to hire that you can count on to finish her up for you while your gone...atleast I can get stuff done while i'm over here. Looks like i'll have to settle for taking her to "the ring" instead of RTTH's for now.

yep still get the monthly fuel rations, if it wasn't for that, i don't think i could afford to drive her very much over here. gas is about 7 dollars a gallon over here, and she tends to be pretty thirsty.

Jeff, my friend Sam at yenko.net wanna know what kind of rear gears you have and what the max. autobahn speed is :drive:

sweet betty is back on the road again!!!

gmjj13

well, as far as max autobahn speed...:dunno: i can tell you though that at 100mph she's right around 2500rpm in 6th gear and feels pretty solid. i'm still chasing down little creaks and such here and there, as well as making sure everything is good prior to running all out. i might be able to get a better idea as to what she's capable of when i go to the dyno next week. i know its not real world, but atleast it'll be an idea. i know she won't probably do near what she does on the dyno, since she has the aerodynamics of a brick, but it'll still be fun. 6th gear is pretty much useless below 75mph. the rear gear is a 3.90.:)

Kev, yep she's back on the road! i actually got to do a little "spirited" driving today. she definately impressed me. still got a few bugs to work out, but she'll get there soon. You still planning on coming over to Schropp's on friday?

We really wish you could have been here this year also, but hey, go to the ring, get some practice and we will see you next year...hahaha
Oh, to run at the ring, that is only a distant dream for most of us. I love the car, and hope we see it in a couple years.

Could this be the first P-T.com car to lap the 'ring? EPIC!

Great car!!

I may be misunderstanding, but is this a stateside car that you brought along on deployment? I'm just curious how much hassle it was to get it into Europe and what it will be to get it back home when you're done over there.

Beautiful Car! Really like the different color.

Jeff, how are you able to run a 14" air cleaner on what appears to be a Dart high-rise intake and only a 2" cowl hood? Is the BB lowered?

hey Bill, not sure if you remember me, but i made it to RTTH in 08. my wife and i were the ones in the red mini cooper. had an awesome time. got to meet you and a bunch of other members. can't wait till i get to make it again. i plan on trying to get as much practice as possible over here. there's not much of an auto-x scene over here, so i'll just have to make do.

Carl, you can bet there will be video. i'll make sure of that. not sure if i'll be the first PT.com member to run the ring, but i'll definately post up when i get to. Next week they are having an open track day at Hockenheim Ring, its the formula 1 track. hopefully i can make it up there with the camaro. :fingersx:

Matt, yep, i brought her over here with me. been working on her for about 5yrs now. i'm registered with the military over here, so it wasn't a hassle at all to get her here, and will be just as easy to bring her home.

Rob,
good eye. i am running a 14x3" K&N on a dart single plane intake. i am using standard 69 camaro BBC frame stands and motor mounts. i am also using a drop base on my air cleaner. it fits perfect in the opening for the cowl. no the BB is not lowered.
