Not sure if it goes here (1990 Iroc gearbox question)

Im going to a GM salvage yard today to buy a few things. Top of the list is the Iroc gearbox. I called them to be sure they had the box. The guy told me they have 1 for a Iroc z but he was unsure of it being 2.5. He told me that to his knowledge camaro only has 1 gearbox for the 1990 camaro. Can I identify that the gearbox is 2.5?

check thirdgen.org for rpo #s, but you might be able to tell off of the service tag if it is still there (console?) and the box has not been changed. if the car is complete IIRC all 16" wheel cars got the better box (12.5:1?). Mine came out of a WS6 car with 16" wheels.

the only way I know to truly ID ratio is how it is outlined on pozziracing.com. no markings, etc.

Thanks for the info. They charge $70 for a rebuilt box. Considering everywhere else is charging almost $150 its a great price. Just trying to make sure im getting the box I want.
